This sturdy, rackmountable set (two units each for the player and its control device) offers a pair of completely independent CD players, each with its own jog wheel and capable of pitch and speed adjustments, continuous play (one to the other), relay play (back and forth), and auto cue/instant start. Fader-start outputs allow mixer-triggered starts from compatible mixing consoles.
Each of the unit's dual liquid-crystal displays shows minutes, seconds, frames, pitch, and looping status in addition to elapsed, remaining, and total-remaining time. Frame search lets you cue right to a specific CD frame, while four-speed scanning simplifies your access to specific parts of songs.
Playback options include 20-track programming, compatibility with audio CD-R and CD-RW (as well as five- and three-inch CDs), and A-B repeat for looping segments of your choice. The drives are manufactured by Sony, and the onboard digital-to-analog converters use 8x oversampling to render digital audio as smoothly and accurately as possible.
